Education is the cornerstone of personal and societal progress, and ensuring access to higher education for all is a fundamental goal. In the Philippines, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has been at the forefront of efforts to make quality tertiary education accessible to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. One of the key initiatives in this regard is the CHED-TULONG DUNONG PROGRAM - TERTIARY EDUCATION SUBSIDY (TES) Grant. In 2023, this program is being extended with the invaluable support of Congressman Benny Abante.
The Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) is a flagship program of CHED aimed at providing financial assistance to students enrolled in public and private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). It particularly targets students who come from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, making higher education more accessible and affordable.
Cong. Benny Abante has been a dedicated advocate for education and youth empowerment. His commitment to improving the lives of his constituents is reflected in his unwavering support for initiatives like the CHED-TULONG DUNONG PROGRAM - TES Grant. In 2023, Cong. Abante played a pivotal role in securing additional funding and resources for the program, ensuring that more students can benefit from this crucial support.
The 2023 CHED-TULONG DUNONG PROGRAM - TES Grant, with Cong. Benny Abante's support, will have a profound impact on the lives of countless Filipino students. By alleviating the financial burden associated with higher education, this program opens doors to academic and career opportunities that may have been otherwise out of reach. It empowers students to pursue their dreams, acquire valuable skills, and ultimately contribute to the nation's development.
The broader impact of this program cannot be understated. When students are given the chance to access higher education, they not only enhance their individual prospects but also strengthen the country's workforce and intellectual capital. This, in turn, contributes to economic growth and social progress.
