The Japan Foundation, Manila (JFM), priorly introduced in 1996, is the 18th overseas office of the Japan Foundation located in Makati.
JFM stayed active for several years in three areas comprising Arts and Cultural Exchange, Japanese-Language Education, and Japanese Studies and Intellectual Exchange.
Now the question is: are you an artist here in the Philippines who is capable of conceptualizing an emotion, idea, or moment, or of more value to express yourself using your imagination?
Do you love arts and excell in painting, sculpture, music, writing or any kinds of creatives using your conscious skill and wanted to take a leap in your career and experience Osaka, Japan?
That opportunity is knocking at your doorstep now, as The Japan Foundation Manila has announced on their Facebook page that they are currently looking for aspiring scholars for their artist-in-residence program.
The artist-in-residence program is an initiative between The Japan Foundation Manila together with Orange Project and Osaka-based art hub TRA-TRAVEL which is already on its 9th volume for the current year.
Through this artist-in-residence program, the The Japan Foundation Manila aims to strengthen and continued their long-running relationship with the aforementioned partner organizations.
The goal of artist-in-residence program remains the same throughout the years which is to nurture the understanding of both cultures, create opportunities, and provide support for the artists as they grow.
The real catch for the artist-in-residence program is that, participants will have the chance to stay for three (3) months in Super Studio Kitakagaya, Osaka, Japan.
Those successful participants for the artist-in-residence program will be funded by JFM and TRA-TRAVEL where they will be provided a support for airfare, accommodation, production expenses, and etc.
