For the school year 2024-2025, the Ayala Foundation, Inc., in collaboration with start-up U-Go, is calling interested applicants to prepare for the applications for the U-Go scholar grant which is set to open on May 13, 2024.
As per the announcement, Ayala Foundation will be the one to facilitate the program implementation, starting from the application screening, to interviews, and scholar monitoring.
This scholarship program is intended to help high-achieving, motivated Filipina students in public universities with the provision of financial assistance for their education.
In order to quality for this scholarship, applicants must be female Filipino citizens, and incoming first-year, second-year, or third-year college students for school year 2024-2025.
Ayala Foundation, Inc. noted that incoming fourth-year students for school year 2024-2025 may also apply provided that they are taking five-year courses while those students who are about to graduate in school year 2024-2025 cannot apply.
Additionally, applicants must enroll in a public or state university/college for school year 2024-2025 and must not have any existing scholarship.
In terms of grade requirements, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 85%. They must also demonstrate financial need and have no disciplinary or administrative cases.
Moreover, applicants must be active members of their community, aspire to bring positive change to society, be models of integrity in the community and be willing to pursue personal and professional development opportunities.
In advance, applicants are encouraged to prepare the necessary documentary requirements for the upcoming scholarship opening which include the following.
Current official certificate of registration/enrollment signed by registrar, latest copy of grades, and documentation of financial need.
Ayala Foundation, Inc. clarified that the following are the only accepted documents: parents' or guardians' most recent Income Tax Return (ITR), tax exemption certificate from the BIR, certificate of indigency of parents.
Meanwhile, for children of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and seafarers, recent contract or proof of income, and latest copy of electric bill are accepted.
Each successful scholars are entitled to receive Php 40,000. This amount will renew each year provided that the scholars maintain good academic results.
