In a newly posted announcement of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), in partnership with the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) TropMed Network, it is opening a program for interested and qualified applicants to be involved in a workshop abroad.
CHED Scholarship: What is the Program All About?
The program is called "Workshop on Clinical and Laboratory Diagnosis of Emerging Fungal Infection". This is a five (5) day short-term program that will take place in Malaysia on November 11-15, 2024.
CHED Scholarship: Who may Apply for the Program?
The program will be available for Filipino faculty members such as those medical doctors or doctors of veterinary medicine who are engaged in teaching and research in the fields of medicine, microbiology and veterinary medicine.
Specifically, he/she must:
- be a Filipino citizen;
- have an existing regular or plantilla item with an HEI identified in the scope and coverage or participants duly identified and approved by the CEB;
- work duties and/or responsibilities are aligned with the CPDSG programs;
- meet the qualifications of the specific program being applied to;
- secure the endorsement and certification of the sending HEI;
- be physically and mentally fit to undertake the program;
- completed a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a CHED or MBTHE– recognized HEI;
- additional eligibility requirement, as needed, may be applied as approved by the Commission en Banc; and
- be able to meet qualifications set by SEAMEO TropMed Network.
CHED Scholarship: What are the Necessary Documentary Requirements?
Applicants will have to gather all the necessary documentary requirements as prescribed by CHED which include:
- application form;
- signed grant undertaking;
- re-entry action plan endorsed by the SHEI;
- SHEI certification and endorsement;
- terms of reference or job description of work duties and responsibilities or equivalent;
- return service agreement;
- signed and notarized promissory note; and
- other supporting documents available at CHED's website.
CHED Scholarship: What are the Benefits?
Upon selection for the program, all participants will be covered for the following:
- program and training fees;
- travel, accommodation and meal expenses;
- stipend/ allowance;
- course materials;
- digital resources for the online lectures; and
- certificate of completion from the institute of medical research.
CHED Scholarship: How to File your Application?
All interested applicants must be nominated by their Sending Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and shall be able to submit complete and correct documentary requirements on the set deadline which is set on September 30, 2024.
