The Department of Education (DepEd) calls the attention of incoming grade 11 students for the school year 2024-2025 to file their applications for its Senior High School Voucher Program starting May 16 to June 4, 2024.
According to DepEd, learners that fall under the categories mentioned below are required to apply for vouchers and shall be referred to as voucher applicants (VAs).
It added that the they will accept VAs based on the given parameters subject to the availability of funds.
Under category C, or those who graduated grade 10 from the preceding school year in private schools who are not ESC grantees must comply in the program.
Those under category D, or those who are grade 10 completers who finished grade 10 prior to the previous school years but not earlier than 2016 and had not previously enrolled for grade 11 must also adhere to the application.
Meanwhile, under category E, or those learners who had passed the Alternative Learning System Accreditation and Equivalency (ALS A&E) test for grade 10 not earlier than 2018 and had not previously enrolled for grade 11, or ALS learners who passed the portfolio assessment for grade 10 are also mandated to apply.
Further, those learners under category F who passed the Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) for grade 10 not earlier than 2016 and had not previously enrolled for grade 11, or learners who will take the PEPT for grade 10 in the upcoming school year shall also obliged with the initiative.
As for those who are not qualified, they are those learners who graduated high school in 2015 or earlier, or those incoming grade 12 learners who were not part of SHS VP in grade 11, as well as those non-Filipino learners.
For clarifications, the voucher amounts refers to the maximum payment a voucher program-participating SHS shall be paid per voucher program beneficiary each school year.
The schools will be the ones to receive voucher payments based on the total school fees they charge or the maximum voucher amount applicable, whichever of the two is lower.
The amount, however, may vary depending on the location of non-DepEd SHS, the qualified voucher registration category (QVR), but VAs may receive Php14, 000 up to Php22,500.
DepEd stated that those who will apply for Senior High School Online Voucher, applications will be solely done online.
It will be coursed through the Private Education Assistance Committee National Secretariat (PEAC NS) Online Voucher Application Portal (OVAP) and DepEd will not be the one to accept submission of applications.
Hence, applications that will be submitted manually will not be entertained.
Note that applications will only be processed when all pertinent documents are completed.
All of the results will be released through OVAP which is on July 12, 2024.
Applicants must login to their OVAP account in order to view the result of their application.
Meanwhile, releasing of QVA certificates is set on September 13, 2024.
Those learners who are under category E or F, the submission of Certificate of Completion (CoC) Certificate of Rating (CoR), or Alternative Learning System (ALS) Form 5 (AF5) via OVAP shall be due on August 30, 2024.
