As a matter of fact, DLSU has announced the opening of a scholarship program named Saint Miguel Febres Cordero PhD Scholarship Program.
This scholarship initiative shall provide full tuition and fees and monthly stipends for full-time students of DLSU in any PhD academic program.
What makes the features of this scholarship unique is the provision of full tuition and miscellaneous fees waiver with a monthly stipend of Php 35,000 for four academic years.
For the current year, there will be fifteen scholarship slots that will be offered to students of any DLSU PhD program which include straight or MA-PhD programs.
As per the announcement, this scholarship shall be available through a competitive selection process which is not needs-based. Meaning, applicants under any financial category are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
According to DLSU, the primary requirement to this scholarship is the admission to any DLSU PhD program. It added that endorsement from a faculty member of the applicant’s choice of department will be an advantage.
This scholarship shall render no service requirement upon graduation. There will be no penalties incurred if applicants fail to complete the program within the indicated four academic years. But it said that the stipends and tuition waiver will cease after four academic years.
