Heads up online games players! Are you fond of playing mobile games? It is now your chance to join and represent your cities in the virtual E-Palarong Pambansa arena!
The first E-Palarong Pambansa will be held this June with the aim of giving grassroots players a chance to represent their cities in the national esports competition.
Participating games in the tournament are League of Legends, Valorant, League of Legends Wild Rift, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Call of Duty mobile, all selected through a fan-based poll.
The competition is open to all players aged 12 to 30 years. Must also be a resident of the area represented, according to organizers.
According to organizer Jam Montehermoso, professional players are not allowed in the E-Palarong Pambansa, so that attention can be paid to the grassroots players.
"This will give amateur players a chance to be discovered and to compete," said Montehermoso.
E-Palarong Pambansa is already conducting qualifiers in different parts of the country.
According to Quezon City coordinator James Afante, up to 700 players registered but only 25 will be selected.
As for esports enthusiast and shoutcaster Paolo Barcelon, it's time to hold a national tournament. It is said that Filipinos are different in esports and everyone can play no matter where they are.
"Mas lumakas ang presensya ng Pilipinas sa esports because of the access that people have to video games everything is just in the palm of your hand supposed to before na nagbabayad ka pa o bibili ka ng console para makapag-laro," said Barcelon.
Until June 2, cities that want to participate in the E-Palarong Pambansa can submit their final lineups.
