In sickness and in health till death they do part, married couples in Nueva Vizcaya will have the chance to receive an enticing Php50,000 for making their marriage lasts for 50 years and up.
It is after the Provincial Council of Nueva Vizcaya passed an ordinance granting married couples the abovementioned incentives provided that they were able to maintain a strong relationship for 50 years and more.
The ordinance was called "Enduring Devotion Award" and was principally authored and sponsored by Nueva Vizcaya's Board Member Patricio Dumlao, Jr.
Under the Enduring Devotion Award ordinance, all married couples who stayed for 50 years in their marriage, as well as those indigenous people who will be proven by their elder tribe to have been sticking together for 50 years and so will also be eligible for the incentives.
Hence, the Enduring Devotion Award ordinance mandated that all participating couples must be in good terms and must have no case associated with violence against women and their children(VAWC).
They must also be residing in Nueva Vizcaya for ten (10) years and must not plan to separate through legal separation or annulment.
Delighted, married couples in Nueva Vizcaya commended the Enduring Devotion Award ordinance saying the ordinance is one great scheme of the Provincial Council and hope that the initiative will continue in order to benefit more of their residents.
Currently, the Enduring Devotion Award ordinance is still in the process of crafting the implementing rules and regulations.
However, a copy of Enduring Devotion Award ordinance released stated the necessary documentary requirements that must be provided by married couples in order to qualify for the scheme which include:
- PSA copy of marriage certificate;
- barangay council resolution;
- barangay certification of residency;
- one (1) valid government issued identification card of each celebrant;
- birth certificate of the spouse issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority or any applicable authority;
- notarized certificate of undertaking indicating no pending cases filed for annulment; and
- national bureau of investigation (NBI) clearance.
Aside from the whopping Php50,000 incentives, qualified married couples will also be entitled to a plaque of recognition and a letter of felicitation from the governor.
They may also avail free regular medical check-up in any medical facility owned and operated by the provincial government of Nueva Vizcaya.
