The Insular Life, the first and largest Filipino life insurance company is thrilled to inform all incoming first year students from STEM courses, that they are now accepting applications for the Gold Eagle College Scholarship Grant available in its six partner schools.
Gold Eagle College Scholarship Grant intends to assist intelligent and deserving students who are in need of financial assistance to be able to access the best education they need to improve their lives, home, and the country.
Gold Eagle College Scholarship Grant shall provide each scholar with financial assistance every semester covering their stipend, transportation and book allowance.
Additionally, those scholars who will graduate with honors shall receive cash incentives from Insular Foundation, as such, scholars and alumni of Gold Eagle College Scholarship Grant shall be entitled to accessing Insular Foundation’s network, leadership trainings, and other capacity-building programs.
For the academic year 2024-2025, Gold Eagle College Scholarship Grant shall receive applications depending on the quota that they have:
Eleven (11) students from UP Diliman: two (2) for BS Mathematics, four (4) for BS Statistics, and five (5) from any Science, Technology, and Engineering courses
- University of the Philippines- Diliman (UPD)
Three (3) students each from for any Science, Technology, and Engineering courses
- Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT)
- Benguet State University (BSU)
- Bohol Island State University (BISU)
- Central Mindanao University (CMU)
- Davao Oriental State University (DORSU)
To make sure that only those deserving of a slot shall be qualified for Gold Eagle College Scholarship Grant, applicants must possess the following qualifications:
- be bona fide students at Insular Foundation’s partner schools, enrolled in any of the STEM courses identified for each school;
- be incoming first year college students, and must have passed the partner school’s admission test;
- have a general weight average (GWA) of 85% in grade 11 and grade 12 up to the first term or second grading period;
- be enrolled in at least 15 units at the time of the award of the grant;
- be financially needy (parents’ annual gross income must not exceed P500,000 for UP Diliman and must not exceed P250,000 for provincial SUCs);
- not have been liable for any disciplinary action worse than a five-day class suspension in senior high school; and
- not be recipients of any other scholarship grant for the duration of the Insular Foundation scholarship grant.
Covered courses under Gold Eagle College Scholarship Grant are dependent on the university applicants want to apply for but all courses fall under Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
Deadline of applications for Gold Eagle College Scholarship Grant shall be on September 10, 2024. While from November- December 2024, announcement of newly admitted scholars and scholar onboarding were scheduled.
Before the set Gold Eagle College Scholarship Grant admission timeline, qualified scholars are advised to prepare a list of necessary documentary requirements as bulleted below:
- duly accomplished application form;
- 2x2 photo in white background;
- certified true copy of grade 11 and grade 12 report card with General Weighted Average (for the grade 12 report card, available grades should be up to the first term or second grading period at the minimum.);
- certificate of good moral character;
- certified true copy of BIR latest income tax return (ITR). if not available, submit a notarized affidavit of source of income. (note: both parents, legal guardian (if applicable), and siblings (if working) should have an ITR or notarized affidavit of source of income. use Insular Foundation's affidavit template and download here;
- certified true copy of certificate of registration/admission in the university/college.
