Nowadays, that the inflation is painstakingly affecting the purchasing power of the people, and the costs of hospital and medical expenses are quite expensive, financial assistance coming from the government is one option to choose from.
Gladly, the Office of the Vice President Sara Duterte offers medical assistance to poor, marginalized, vulnerable, and disadvantaged individuals.
The OVP medical assistance shall be granted to the in-need beneficiaries via Guarantee Letters and only through Partner Service Providers with Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
According to the set guidelines, applicants or authorized representatives shall have the opportunity to avail the OVP medical assistance once every six (6) months.
OVP medical assistance applicants will have to submit the complete and correct documentary requirements through the nearest OVP Satellite Offices to file their applications.
The department advised that OVP medical assistance applicants who will pass incomplete requirements shall not be processed and entertained.
What are the necessary documentary requirements for OVP medical assistance?
Note that those who will apply for OVP medical assistance shall present the original documents during interview for validation.
Hence, processors of OVP medical assistance shall request supporting documents from the applicants should there be need for further validation and justification.
- original copy of the medical application form;
- original copy of the social case study report or certificate of indigency or eligibility;
- original or certified copy of medical records;
- photocopy of one (1) valid identification card (ID) of patient or authorized representative, if any; and
- original valid ID of senior citizen (SC) or persons with disability (PWD) ID of the patient and purchase booklet.
On the other side, those who want to avail the mandatory discounts, they must present the original PWD or senior citizen ID and buy slip booklet of the patient to the service provider upon claiming of assistance.
In addition to the general requirements listed for OVP medical assistance, applicants are also mandated to provide additional documents based on patient's case type:
- chemotherapy, radiation therapy, brachytherapy;
- hospitalization;
- medicines/ implant/ medical equipment/ assistive device;
- diagnostic procedure/ dialysis; and
- wheelchair.
How to avail the OVP medical assistance?
Applicant who wish to avail the OVP medical assistance at the OVP Central Office shall register through the Digital Appointment System for a scheduled face-to-face interview.

Applicants are encouraged to submit the correct and complete requirements located at the Central Office- 11th floor, Robinsons Cybergate Plaza, EDSA Corner, Pioneer Street, Brgy. Barangka Ilaya, Mandaluyong City, starting from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on your scheduled appointment.
