It's the time of the year again when Landbank of the Philippines has opened the Iskolar ng Landbank program for the academic year 2024-2025.
The Iskolar ng Landbank program was implemented in 2023 which was designed to support economically disadvantaged but deserving students.
The Iskolar ng Landbank program targets the children or grandchildren of agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs), small farmers, and fishers.
The Iskolar ng Landbank program stays commited in nurturing and developing youth from the country’s sixty poorest provinces by offering supported courses at identified State Universities and Colleges (SUCs).
To ensure swift application process, the Iskolar ng Landbank program shall be administered by the LCDFI- Landbank Countryside Development Foundation Inc. where it will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the program and managing inquiries related to the scholarship program.
In order to qualify for the Iskolar ng Landbank program, interested students must possess the following qualifications:
- must be child or grandchild of an agrarian reform beneficiary, or a small farmer/fisher;
- must be recommended by a Landbank agriculture-based client cooperative, association, and organization in the identified provinces;
- must be graduating high school student with a minimum average grade of 90% or belonging to the top 10% of their class;
- must be endorsed by the high school principal;
- must not enjoy any other financial assistance, grant, or scholarship from other external sources;
- must pass the admission requirements of partner-SUCs;
- must have total annual family income must not exceed P300,000; with exemptions on a case-to-case basis.
Qualified scholars under the scholarship shall be able to receive an annual allowance and expenses of P100,000 per year which will cover the allowances and expenses for books, clothing, and other course requirements.
Scholars shall also have the access to special cash incentives for those graduating with honors and opportunities for on-the-job training (OJT) in Landbank Branches and Lending Centers, and with the Bank’s partner agencies and institutions.
