Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), a multilateral development finance institution centered on Islamic finance for infrastructure development situated in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia is now accepting applications for Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Scholarship Program for Muslim Communities in non-MCs (SPMC) for the academic year 2024-2025.
This scholarship program's goal is to help and allow academically meritorious and financially impoverished young Muslim students from Muslim communities in non-MCs to have their undergraduate studies in medicine, engineering, agriculture, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary science, nursing, nutrition study, computer science, forestry, and fishery in their own countries.
To be considered in the scholarship, an applicant must be able to meet certain eligibility criteria.
One must be in the maximum age of 24 and in need of financial assistance without which study may have to stop.
Additionally, he or she should not be an ISDB staff member or Executive Director, his/her alternate, and/or staff of any type of appointment including temporary and consultant of the ISDB Group nor a close relative by blood or adoption, with the term "close relative" defined as mother, father, sister, half-sister, brother, half-brother, son, daughter, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew.
An applicant must be a graduate of senior secondary education or the equivalent of approximately 12 years of education who has good grades in major science subjects.
Moreover, an applicant must have evidence of language proficiency in the university medium of instruction as relevant.
As a proof of language proficiency, there should be supporting documents such as certificate, e.g., for English, by a recognized language certificate such as TOEFL or IELTS or by having passed the required level test conducted such as by the British Council or equivalent system in French or other languages.
Provided certified English or French translation of all documents in case they are initially in other languages.
Essentially, an applicant must be medically fit and willing to undergo medical examination if selected.
He or she must also have secured admission in one of the disciplines indicated under the programme at a recognized college or university in their own country.
Plus, he or she should not be living in a country other than his/her home country and lastly, not a beneficiary of any other scholarship during the application and during studies.
The scholarship shall provide a comprehensive package for scholars such as tuition fee, monthly stipend, books/clothing allowance, and cost of medical treatment.
Interested applicants may submit their application until April 20, 2024 via the IsDB Scholarship Portal.
