Give yourself a break into something wonderful this 2025 by applying to a 2-year master's degree program in Japan through the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) which shall takes places during the academic year 2025-2026.
What is JDS Philippines?
The JDS Philippines is a scholarship program initiated in 2002 paving the way for a total of 459 scholars up to the current year to study in Japan for a 2-year master's degree.
The scholarship shall be instructed in English so there's really no need for scholars to learn Nihongo but they must be proficient in the English language.
As such, JDS Philippines will send 20 scholars to Japan for the program this year which usually is the number of scholars selected every year.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants for the scholarship shall be able to satisfy the following qualifications in order to be considered in the program:
- citizens of the Republic of the Philippines;
- between 22 and 39 as of April 1st, 2025 (born on/after April 2nd, 1985 and born on/before April 1st, 2003);
- must be an employee in the Philippine Government and not a member of the military;
- currently employed in the Philippine Government;
- have permanent status;
- have at least 2 (two) years of work experience, particularly in work relevant to the selected Component, at the time of application;
- have a performance rating of at least 'Very Satisfactory' from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024 in the organization;
- possess a Bachelor's Degree relevant to the target fields;
- English Proficiency: TOEFL PBT 550/ iBT 79-80 or IELTS 6.5 or higher;
- 16 years of formal education is required (in principle), however, relevant academic/research career or working experience can be considered as the alternative to meet the requirement; and
- have not been awarded any other foreign scholarships for obtaining a master's degree.
