If you are looking for an assistance that will help you get through your financial dilemma, there is a scheme offered by the Senate of the Philippines where you can ask for medical or social assistance.
This medical and social assistance can be accessed through what they called Senate Assist where several coverage and kinds of assistance may be availed.
The Senate Assist website will help the transactions be simplified to get medical and social assistance programs of the Senators.
In a collaborative effort with government agencies, public health institutions, and the private sector, the social and medical assistance programs were made possible.
The good thing is, the Senate Assist portal allows everyone to submit their request 24/7 making it easier for Filipinos to seek help, wherever they are in the Philippines.
First of, the medical assistance, it is an assistance which covers the following:
- hospital bill;
- laboratory bill;
- diagnostic procedure;
- medicines;
- dialysis or hemodialysis;
- chemotherapy or chemo drugs; and
- operations or surgery.
Those who are admitted in Department of Health (DOH) hospitals and other public hospitals may avail the medical assistance.
To file your applications, applicants must prepare the following documentary requirements:
- personal letter to the Senator;
- medical certificate or clinical abstract;
- quotation of medicines or hospital bills;
- copy of patient's ID and his representative; and
- accomplished SPAO medical assistance form
Second, the social assistance is an assistance which covers the following:
- education;
- legal;
- burial;
- balik probinsya, transportation, human remains;
- private hospitals and other non-medical related expenses.
Those individuals or families who are facing severe financial constraints may apply for social assistance.
Meanwhile, the following documentary requirements must be prepared by applicants for social assistance.
For educational, transportation, and other non-medical assistance, you must ready the following:
- personal letter to the Senator or SPAO;
- 1 government Issued I.D;
For burial assistance, the following are the requirements you need to prepare:
- 1 valid government I.D;
- death certificate;
- promissory note.
Next, for legal assistance, you must ready the documents below:
- personal letter to the senator or SPAO;
- 1 government issued I.D; and
- supporting documents.
Finally, for medical- private hospital, below is the required documents:
- personal letter to the Senator or SPAO;
- 1 government issued I.D;
- social case study; and
- supporting documents.
