Are you an aspiring cadet who is ready to embark on a journey of learning and excellence? The Norwegian Shipowners Association (NSA), an employers' organization and interest group for Norwegian shipping and offshore companies, got your aspirations on track as it is now accepting applications for its NSA Cadet Program.
The organization has recently announced that the online application for the NSA Cadet Program for the school year 2025-2029 is now up for grabs for all interested cadets.
The NSA Cadet Program aims to assist K-12 graduating class, and even college-level applicants to pursue a promising maritime career.
Under the NSA Cadet Program, courses covered include Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation and Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering.
Eventually, qualified and accepted cadets are educated and trained to become future Ship Captains and Chief Engineers respectively under the NSA Cadet Program.
Of course, applicants under the NSA Cadet Program will be able toar receive a comprehensive scholarship package including prestigious maritime institution education, free dormitory, board, and lodging during the first two (2) years of the scholarship period, and free training and upgrading course.
They will also be able to experience a meaningful leadership, character, and career development program where they will have the opportunity to travel worldwide during the apprenticeship at the same time.
Before anything else, all interested applicants for the NSA Cadet Program must be able to possess the qualifications being asked by the NSA which are bulleted below:
- 17-24 years old on or before April 30;
- senior high school (K-12) graduates;
- existing college students and tertiary level graduates;
- physically and mentally fit;
- Filipino citizen; and
- no derogatory records or was not convicted/ accused of any crime of moral turpitude.
Upon qualifying for NSA Cadet Program, the following stages or phases are what you are going to undergo before successfully becoming a Cadet:
- online application;
- qualifying examinations;
- written examinations (a whole-day exam that covers Math, Science, English, Inductive Reasoning, and more)
- computer-based examinations (a half-day exam that covers Cognitive Ability test and Psychological Profiling)
- company selection;
- medical (to be undertaken by candidates selected by sponsoring company); and
- endorsement to company-preferred school.
