Do you want to join the Corps and spend your lifetime filled with honor, duty and valor? That opportunity is now knocking on your door as the Philippine Marine Corps is looking for aspiring Marines to join their force.
In a glimpse, the Philippine Marine Corps also known as Hukbong Kawal Pandagat ng Pilipinas, is a naval amphibious force working under the Philippine Navy's command.
As of the moment, the Recruitment Office of the Philippine Marine Corps has opened both Marine Officer Candidate and Marine Basic Course.
So, what is it for aspiring Marines when they become part of the Philippine Marine Corps? The naval force offers the aspiring Marines the following:
- opportunities to serve and protect the country;
- opportunity to lead the marines;
- opportunities to serve in international peacekeeping missions under United Nations;
- opportunity for career advancement;
- leadership and other skills training both local and abroad;
- opportunities for post graduate studies both within the country and abroad;
- free medical and dental service (including dependents);
- insurance and health care benefits;
- billeting and housing privileges;
- job security; and
- competitive pay and allowances.
But first, let's take a look in the eligibility criteria for Marine Officer Candidate and Marine Basic Course before you proceed with your applications.
For Marine Officer Candidate, you must be:
- at least 21 years old but not more than 26 years and 6 months old on the date of admission;
- a Filipino citizen and of good moral character;
- single, never been married and has no child of his/her own;
- a graduate of a 4-year Baccalaureate degree;
- at least 5’0 (60 inches); and
- physically, mentally and psychological fit for military training.
For the initial necessary documentary requirements, you must prepare the following:
- PSA birth certificate;
- college diploma;
- transcript of records; and
- 2×2 picture (white background)
For Marine Basic Course, you must be:
- a Filipino citizen and of good moral character;
- be 18-24 years old;
- unmarried and with no child to support;
- at least 5’0 (60 inches); and
- physically, mentally and psychological fit for military training.
For the initial necessary documentary requirements, you must prepare the following:
- PSA birth certificate;
- high school or K-12 diploma;
- transcript of records if at least 72 units in college;
- TESDA certificate (NCII); and
- 2x2 picture with white background
The Philippine Marine Corps advised all interested and aspiring Marines to place all documents in one (1) original folder and four (4) photocopied folders with red tabbing.
Now, to file you application you may do so by proceeding to the Philippine Marine Corps, Recruitment Office, Marine Barracks Rudiardo Brown, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
However, do take note that several mobile recruitments are available and being conducted in certain regions so better get updated.
For your information, the Recruitment Office opens only on weekdays which is from Monday to Friday starting from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
