The Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA), a maritime higher education institution operated by the Philippine government in San Narciso, Zambales, hereby announced that it is now accepting applications for its entrance examination for class 2029.
If you want to be efficient and well trained merchant marine officer, take the PMMA entrance examination and get a chance to be part of the prestigious institution and join the Long Blue Line for the school year 2025-2026.
Beforehand, all interested applicants for PMMA entrance examination must be able to satisfy the eligibility criteria set upon by the PMMA, which are bulleted below:
- male or female, physically fit, natural born Filipino citizen;
- single and never been married and has no children out of wedlock;
- free from being accused or convicted of any crime against the law and the state;
- at least 17 years old and not more than 23 years old upon enrollment on August 01;
- grade 12 student; college level
- at least 160 centimeters (5 ft. and 3 in.) for males and 155 centimeters (5 ft. and 1 in.) for females;
- BMI of less than 25;
- at least of good academic performance;
- has not been enrolled in PMMA.
Note that the application deadline for PMMA entrance examination will be on September 30, 2024 while the academy’s entrance examination shall be conducted last Saturday of October annually at selected Testing Centers nationwide.
As per the announcement, test questions for the PMMA entrance examination contains objective type and cover the core subjects of graduating high school students which include:
- English (Vocabulary, Grammar, Analogy, Reading Comprehension);
- Mathematics (Algebra, Geometry, Statistics and Trigonometry);
- Science (General Science, Chemistry and Physics); and
- Abstract Reasoning.
