An opportunity awaits those who want to take advantage of the Project Lawin scholarship program offered by National Teachers College for the academic year 2024-2024.
For the current year, applicants are invited to apply for one (1) Project Lawin Guidance Counseling Scholarship and one (1) Project Lawin Special Education Scholarship.
The Project Lawin scholarship program shall exempt scholars from tuition fees for 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years for Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling and Master's Degree in Special Education.
Note that the Project Lawin scholarship program is a fully-funded scholarship for the abovementioned courses and only Filipino citizens are eligible to apply for the program.
The Project Lawin scholarship program shall develop dedicated scholars and train them in Guidance Counseling and Special Education who will later on have the opportunity to serve in public school systems and provide help to those students in need of expert care.
The Project Lawin scholarship program offered two Master's Degree programs including one (1) Master of Arts Degree in Guidance and Counseling and one (1) Master’s of Arts in Education Degree major in Special Education from the National Teachers College in Manila, NCR.
Upon selection to the Project Lawin scholarship program, scholars shall allot a total of four (4) academic years for the scholarship which is two (2) for each.
Before anything else, there are eligibility criteria that must be met by those interested applicants for the Project Lawin scholarship program, which include:
- holder of a bachelor’s degree in education or allied fields such as psychology, social work, nursing and others;
- have obtained a professional teaching license;
- grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 out of 4.0 or equivalent upon completion of bachelor's degree;
- be willing to work for a minimum of three (3) years at a Philippine public school upon completion of the master's degree; and
- be able to show adequate proof of need for financial support.
As for the necessary documentary requirements for the Project Lawin scholarship program, applicants must ready the following:
- application essay of 1000 words or less that explains candidate's reason for earning a Master's degree and plans of serving in a public school for 3 years;
- two recommendation letters from a former instructor and a former or current employer;
- a certified true copy of the original transcript of records regarding all academic semesters or school years completed during previous studies beginning at the undergraduate level;
- resume that summarizes your academic, extra-curricular, and employment history;
- copy of government-issued identification document; and
- medical certificate indicating fitness to engage in further studies.
Now that you know the documents that must be prepared, you may start accomplishing them as the last date to apply for the Project Lawin scholarships program is set on September 15, 2024.
