Good news await to those working in the government sector as President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. granted all qualified government employees with a one-time Php20,000 service recognition incentive (SRI) for fiscal year 2024.
The SRI payment was enclosed in Administrative Order No. 27 which was ratified by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on December 12, 2024.
According to the order released, the SRI was intended for the collective and invaluable contributions of all government employees to the government’s continuing efforts in pursuing their objectives, commitments, targets, and deliverables.

What is Services Recognition Incentive?
The Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) is an annual financial incentive given to all qualified government employees in an effort to recognize their commitment and dedication to quality and responsive public service.
How Much is SRI?
The SRI is a financial incentive allocated to a uniform amount not exceeding Twenty Thousand Pesos (Php20,000) for each qualified government employee.
When will the SRI Get Released?
The SRI shall be given to all qualified government employees starting December 15, 2024 and onwards.
Who are Qualified for SRI?
The SRI shall be granted to all civilian personnel in the national government agencies including the following:
- state universities and colleges (SUCs);
- Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs), occupying regular, contractual, or casual positions;
- military and uniformed personnel;
- employees in the legislative and judicial branches, and other offices with fiscal autonomy; and
- employees in local government units (LGUs) and local water districts.
The SRI is therefore given to employees occupying regular, contractual, or casual positions, who have completed at least 4 months of satisfactory government service as of November 30, 2024, and must still be employed by the government.
Those who have rendered less than four months of satisfactory service by the same date shall be entitled to a pro-rated share of the SRI as indicated below:

- 40% of SRI for three months but less than four months of service;
- 30% of SRI for two months but less than 3 months of service;
- 20% of SRI for one month but less than two months of service; and
- 10% of SRI for less than one month of service.
Who are Exempted from SRI?
The following individuals who are engaged without employer-employee relationship, and whose compensation funded from non-Personnel Services appropriations are ineligible for the SRI:
- consultants and experts engaged for a limited period to perform specific activities or services with expected outputs;
- laborers engaged through job contracts (pakyaw) and those paid on a piecework basis;
- student workers and apprentices; and
- individuals and groups of people whose services are engaged through job orders, or contracts of service.
