The exceptional occurrence of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has mainly led to the implementation of different forms of community quarantine. This brought great impact not only to the country or the world economy but specifically to our children’s education.
With the school year ending not when it was supposed to; it looks like it would not be starting anytime soon as well. So how would the next school year go down? In this article, we'll be sharing the DepEd calendar of activities to help you figure out what the schedule is.

Subsequently, with all the meetings and internal discussions made, The Department of Education (DepEd) was able to come up with a conclusion to set the opening of the School Year (SY) 2020-2021 on August 24,2020, and will end on April 30, 2021, having a total of 203 class days.
Pre-School Year
The DepEd said that the days in August prior to the formal school opening will be for each school or learning institution's initiative to give their students and their learners enough homework to discover foundational subjects; so as to consider a much simpler and a more efficient curriculum.

Other approaches of teaching will also be considered like online possibilities and also radio or TV lessons. Online classes administered by private schools and state local universities and colleges may start as early as first Monday of June but strictly no face-to-face classes earlier than August 24. The enrollment will be conducted on June 1 to 30.
On this regard, the DepEd released its latest Calendar for the said School Year according to DepEd Order No. 007 series of 2020.
