DSWD List of SAP Beneficiaries, Out Now!

Due to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak, millions of people went from their regular day-to-day jobs, to being temporarily — and even permanently jobless. The Social Amelioration Program (SAP) is just one of the many government programs aimed to provide the financial assistance our countrymen needs.

In the middle of the days in which the financial assistance is given, there were disputes about who got the support from those who did not. Nevertheless, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) released the list of SAP beneficiaries, available for the information needed by the national government and the people who needs it.

Request for the masterlist

Prior to the uploading of the list of SAP beneficiaries, several government officials requested for this to happen. Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III was one of them. He said that his request, together with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), as aimed towards settling reports about not being able to receive financial assistance.

Since its release yesterday, it hasn’t been functioning quite well. But now, it’s available and people are now able to see the list.

The list of SAP beneficiaries that was uploaded comprised of:

  • Provinces
  • Cities
  • Municipalities; and
  • Barangays

Transparency of the cash aid

During the meeting about how this will be effective, government officials, as well as the DILG said that this is purely for the intention of being transparent. Furthermore, they said that it is imperative for the people to know who were already given the cash aid.

In the official SAP document, it was mentioned that among the priorities would be senior citizens, single parents, persons with disabilities (PWDs), pregnant and expectant mothers, low-income households, as well as Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in distress.

Even if that was the case, people still had complaints about them not receiving the financial aid. With the list that the DSWD has uploaded in their system, it’s going to be clear who received the SAP and those who did not.

In this scenario, what they can do is to contact the Grievance Redress System (GRC) of the DSWD. Currently, it is monitored by the DSWD’s Central Office-Operations Center (OpCen).
