A pleasing news for all the students in the Philippines who want to join Secondary 3 at particular Singapore secondary schools, the ASEAN Scholarship for the Philippines has been opened by the Singapore's Ministry of Education.
Secondary 3 in Singapore is usually for students aged 15, whereas Pre-University is for two-year or three-year studies at junior colleges.
According to their website, the program aims to help the students have the chance to widen their horizons and gain vital abilities like leadership, communication, and other life skills. Also, they can aid in fostering goodwill and understanding between Singaporean youth and youth from other countries.
Hence, if you have a child/children who want/s to pursue their study in Singapore, do not waste the opportunity and apply them to the scholarship!

Who can apply for the scholarship?
All interested Filipino students must meet the qualifications specified by the ministry:
- Are born on 2 Jan 2007 to 1 Jan 2010
- Are currently in Grade 9 or above
- Are proficient in English
- Have done consistently well in school examinations
- Have a good record of participation in Co-curricular activities
What are the benefits under the scholarship?
If accepted, the scholars will enjoy the following priveleges:
- Annual allowance with hostel accommodation.
- Settling-in allowance.
- Return economy airfare.
- School fees.
- Examination fees for GCE O-Level and A-Level (once only, as applicable).
- Subsidised medical benefits and insurance cover for accidents.
What is the duration of scholarship?
The scholarship will be valid for 4 years from Secondary 3 to Pre-University 2, leading to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level certificate or similar qualification. It will be renewed each year based on the scholar’s performance in school.
Application Period: March 1, 2023 (Wednesday) to 26 April 26, 2023 (Wednesday)
Please note that the system cannot be accessed from:
March 4, 2023 (Saturday) 2pm to March 5, 2023 (Sunday) 2pm
April 1, 2023 (Saturday) 2pm to April 2, 2023 (Sunday) 2pm

How to file your application?
All interested Filipino students must submit their application online via this link
Interested applicants must attend a selection test in June 2023. Shortlisted candidates will be informed at least 1 week in advance to attend the selection test in Manila.
Additionally, applicants must attend a selection interview in August 2023. Shortlisted candidates will be informed at least 1 week in advance to attend the selection interview in Manila.
The award of scholarship will be in September 2023. Successful applicants will be notified via email.\
Scholars are expected to arrive in Singapore in November 2023.
