Good news for Filipino workers who aspire to work abroad, skilled workers are up for deployment in Germany, according to the Department of Labor and Employment's (DOLE) news release dated April 18, 2022.
As per the news release, two new labor agreements between the Philippine and German Governments are in the process of discussion. This bilateral agreement will give opportunities for Filipino workers in Germany in terms of other skills categories, aside from nurses in which to recall are under the Triple Win Program.

According to Secretary Silvestre Bello III, one of the labor agreement is intended for additional pathway to the recruitment of healthcare professionals. Meanwhile, the second labor agreement centers on the deployment of 31 skills and professions.

Further, base on the DOLE's news release, the identified pilot sectors are hotel service, electrical engineering & mechanics, sanitation, heating and air conditioning as well as child care.
"We are hopeful that the two agreement could come to fruition within the term of President Duterte and mark a significant milestone in the history of Philippine-German bilateral relations," Secretary Bello said with optimism of finalizing the labor agreements as soon as possible.

Currently, under the Triple Win Program, the Philippines deploys Filipino nurses to Germany.
"Since 2013, we have deployed around 1,811 nurses under the program, which is exempted from the cap on the overseas deployment of Filipino healthcare workers," Bello stated during the turnover of the German-funded Geriatric Skills Laboratory in Baliuag University in Bulacan recently.
The aforementioned laboratory is funded by the Bertelsmann Stiftung Foundation through the collaboration of the Philippine and German agencies under the Triple Win Program-Global Skills Partnership program.

Through the expansion of the Triple Win Program, the Global Skills Partnership program gives access to German training through face-to-face, e-learning, and other alternative methods.
Due to the aging population in Germany, geriatric care was also mentioned to be one of the priority skills required by nurses in the European country.
