Everyone who wants to become a licensed professional teacher must pass the Licensure Examination for Teachers. The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) oversees LET, which is held twice a year, most likely in March and September.

Who can take the LEPT?
As per R.A. NO. 7836 and its amendment REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9293., applicants must:
- be a citizen of the Philippines or an alien whose country has reciprocity with the Philippines in the practice of the teaching profession;
- be at least eighteen (18) years of age;
- be in good health and of good reputation with high moral values;
- not been convicted by final judgment by a court for an offense involving moral turpitude;
- be a graduate of a school, college or university recognized by the government and possesses the minimum educational qualifications, as follows:
- For teachers in preschool, a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education (BECED) or its equivalent;
- For teachers in the elementary grades, a bachelor’s degree in elementary education (BSEED) or its equivalent;
- For teachers in the secondary grades, a bachelor’s degree in education or its equivalent with a major and minor, or a bachelor degree in arts and sciences with at least eighteen (18) units in professional education; and
- For teachers of vocational and two-year technical courses, a bachelor’s degree in the field of specialization or its equivalent, with at least eighteen (18) units in professional education.”
What are the necessary documentary requirements?
According to the PRC website, applicants must be able to prepare the following documents.
- Original and Photocopy of Transcript of Records (TOR) with:
Special Order (SO)
date of graduation
seal of the school
scanned picture
remarks “For Board Examination Purposes Only” (CHED recognition and permit to operate for graduates of new schools / programs)
- Original and Photocopies of Authenticated NSO/PSA Birth Certificate
Original and Photocopies of NSO/PSA Marriage Contract (For married female applicants)
- Receipt of Examination Fee of 900 pesos (Paid through your selected payment option)
Cedula (Photocopy)
