Recently, the executive department of the Philippine government- Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) tasked with the protection of the rights and promote the welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families announced a wonderful opportunity for those who want to pursue a greener pasture abroad.
This upcoming August 1, 2024, huge number of job vacancies will be conducted by the DMW and will be up for grabs for Filipinos wanting to work in Japan.
The program is called Philippine-Japan Friendship Week. The Philippine-Japan Friendship Week is a move intended to commemorate the bilateral agreement and collaboration between the two participating countries.
Under the Philippine-Japan Friendship Week, approximately 25,000 approved job opportunities await job seekers on this special jobs fair titled "Konnichiwa Pilipinas! Kumusta Japan!".
Hence, the Philippine-Japan Friendship Week was organized by the DMW and the Embassy of Japan.
The Philippine-Japan Friendship Week shall take place at the 3rd floor of Robinsons Galleria Ortigas in Quezon City.
The Philippine-Japan Friendship Week shall start as early as 10:00 AM and shall end at 4:00 PM.
According to the announcement, there will be fifteen licensed recruitment agencies listed which will participate in the Philippine-Japan Friendship Week.
These recruitment agencies partaking in the Philippine-Japan Friendship Week will be offering jobs mainly in the sectors of construction, medical and healthcare, hotel and restaurant, customer services, and others.
The Philippine-Japan Friendship Week allows the DMW and the Embassy of Japan to provide a venue for Filipino job seekers in accessing legitimate recruiters.
Additionally, the Philippine-Japan Friendship Week will also enable job applicants to learn about gender dynamics and potential risks associated with overseas labor migration through short information sessions on Japanese-gendered work culture.
