If you are a woman who wants to pursue higher education in the United Kingdom, and someone who is enthusiastic about your field of study, the British Council has announced that they are offering a scholarship programme for those who wish to study a master's degree in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics programme at a leading UK university, or if you have completed a PhD in STEM in the last three years, you could apply for Early Academic Fellowship.
With the goal of benefiting women from the Americas, South Asia, East Asia, western Balkans, central Asia, Brazil, Egypt, Mexico, and Turkey, the British Council is launching its Women in STEM scholarship programme for its third consecutive year in collaboration with 21 UK universities.
Who can apply for the scholarship?
Filipinos are particularly eligible for master's scholarships and early academic fellowships at Middlesex University, the University of Strathclyde, and Newcastle University.
Generally, interested Filipino applicants must:
- take up a course of study in the UK for the academic year from September/October 2023– 2024
- demonstrate a need for financial support
- have an undergraduate degree that will enable them to gain access to one of the pre-selected postgraduate courses at a UK university (for Masters level) or completed all components of PhD in the last three years (for Early Academic Fellowships)
- attain the level of English required for postgraduate study/research at a UK university
- be active in the field with work experience or a proven interest in their subject area
- be passionate about their course of study and are willing to engage as committed British Council scholarship alumni.
What are the benefits under the scholarship?
The scholarship shall cover the scholars tuition fees, monthly stipend, travel costs, visa, and health coverage fees.
Application Deadline: The deadlines for applications for Master scholarships and Early Academic Fellowship are open from March to May this year, with varying deadlines based on the partner university.
