Guide on How to Apply for the CHED Scholarship

If the Department of Education (DepEd) is the body of the government who deals with basic education from preschool to high school, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is the branch of the government who deals with higher education.

Just like any other institution, CHED also has a scholarship offered to college students. The CHED Scholarship or the Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAPS) is actually more than just a simple scholarship. In this article, we will be discussing what the StuFAPS is, what the requirements are, and how a college learner can avail it.

What is the StuFAPs?

The Student Financial Assistance Programs or StuFAPS is a program that consists of student loans, grants-in-aid, subsidies, and government-funded scholarships. More so, they also offer other incentives for students who qualify in whatever program they offer.

In the law, there is what we call Unified Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST). To honor Republic Act (R.A.) No. 10687. UniFAST strengthens, expands, improves, and most importantly, reconciles all government-funded StuFAP modalities for higher level education in both the private and public institutions.

UniFAST was made and established to encourage the improvement and development of students who are nourished and talented for them to be able to service the good and widen the pool of world-class Filipino innovators, researchers, leaders, thinkers, and professionals.

  5. Good day Ma’am/Sir,
