The Insular Foundation, Inc. was created on 1963. It was established as the corporate social responsibility arm of Insular Life Assurance Company, Ltd., one of the oldest and largest insurance companies in the Philippines. Since its inception, the foundation has been dedicated to promoting social welfare and implementing various programs and projects for the betterment of society.
Now, here's the good news, the Insular Foundation is calling interested students to apply for the Gold Eagle College Scholarship Grant, a prestigious scholarship program designed to provide financial assistance and support to deserving incoming first-year college students in the Philippines who want to pursue STEM courses for the academic year 2023-2024 in its 6 partner schools.
By providing this scholarship opportunity, the Insular Foundation aims to empower Filipino youth and contribute to the development of future leaders who will make a positive impact in their communities and society as a whole.
Who can apply for the scholarship?
- It is open to incoming first-year college students who:
- are enrolled in the 6 accredited college or university of Insular Foundation;
- are enrolled in any of the STEM courses identified for each school;
- have passed the partner school’s admission test;
- have a general weight average (GWA) of 85% in Grade 11 and Grade 12 up to the first term or second grading period;
- are enrolled in at least 15 units at the time of the award of the grant;
- are financially needy (parents’ annual gross income must not exceed P500,000.00 for UP Diliman and must not exceed P250,000.00 for provincial SUCs;
- are not liable for any disciplinary action worse than a five-day class suspension in Senior High School; and
- are not a recipient of any other scholarship grant at the time of the grant.
What are the benefits under the scholarship?
The scholarship grant offers a comprehensive financial assistance every semester which covers monthly stipend, transportation and book allowance to help students meet their daily living expenses.
Scholars who will graduate with honors will receive cash incentives from Insular Foundation.
Additionally, scholars will have the opportunity to participate in various enrichment programs, mentoring activities, and leadership training, which are all aimed at enhancing their personal and professional development.
What are the foundation's partner schools? How many scholars are selected?
1.University of the Philippines – Diliman (UPD)
eleven (11) students from UP Diliman: two (2) for BS Mathematics, four (4) for BS Statistics, and five (5) from any Science, Technology, and Engineering courses
three (3) students each from for any Science, Technology, and Engineering courses
2.Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT)
3.Benguet State University (BSU)
4.Bohol Island State University (BISU)
5.Central Mindanao University (CMU)
6.Davao Oriental State University (DORSU)

3.Certified True Copy of Grade 11 and Grade 12 Report Card with General Weighted Average (For the Grade 12 Report Card, available grades should be up to the first term or second grading period at the minimum.)
4.Certified True Copy of BIR Latest Income Tax Return (ITR). If not available, submit a Notarized Affidavit of Source of Income.
