LTO Announces Free 15-Hour Theoretical Driving Course (TDC)

The Land Transportation Office, more commonly referred to as the LTO, announces that there will be a free enrollment for the 15-hour theoretical driving course (TDC).

However, this will only be for a select few LTO Driver’s Education Centers.

But, before we dive straight onto the topic of the LTO giving the free 15-hour theoretical driving course or TDC, do you know what it is?

What is the TDC? 

The TDC, short for the theoretical driving course, is one of the requirements in acquiring a student permit in the Philippines, which started last year.

Many people joke about the fact that it was the reason why getting a driver’s license in the country became only for the “rich people” because people who have applied showed receipts of their entire transaction and experience, going as high as P11,000.

However, many do not realize that these strict rules and guidelines are for the benefit of everyone. It promotes:

• Safer roads
• Better driver attitude
• More technical understanding of road signages
• Clearer driver intuition

The TDC was the resolution that the agency had in order to “fix” and “resolve” the unrelenting traffic issues that thousands of Filipinos experience on a regular basis.

It cost a lot before but now, you can get a free 15-hour theoretical driving course.

Enrolling in an LTO-Accredited Driving Center

So, if you’re one of the hopefuls to be able to get an LTO driver’s license, here’s what you have to do:

1. Locate one of the LTO-accredited driving centers in your region
2. Tell them that you’re looking to be scheduled for the theoretical driving course or the TDC.
3. Then, wait for them to confirm when your schedule will be
4. It’s for free – you wouldn’t have to pay for anything
