It is hereby announced by the Taiwanese government that it is going to hold more job fair opportunities for Filipinos.
The scheme was after a job fair was successfully done in Isabela last June of the current year.
The said job fair has paved way for 700 applicants to be hired immediately.
Meanwhile, approximately 3,000 applicants had qualified for several positions that are being offered by Taiwan employers.
Hence, the successful job fair prompted another job fair to be conducted in Ilocos Sur on September 11 and October 13 in Leyte.
According to Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO), Filipinos are most preferred when it comes to skilled works especially as factory workers.
MECO added that the monthly salary of factory workers in Taiwan ranges to NTD 27,410 which is equivalent to about Php48,000.
Data reported that currently there are around 155,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Taiwan.
Data also tallied around 125,000 of the said total are factory workers because of Taiwan’s vibrant semiconductor industry.
Well, data added that Taiwan also has a growing demand for caregivers and teachers.
A recent data stated that on average, MECO has been deploying 3,000 to 5,000 OFWs on a monthly basis.
Despite circulating news on increasing tensions with China, MECO stays hopeful on the thought that Taiwan is still a safe and ideal labor destination for Filipinos.
As various published reports said, Taiwan remains leading on semiconductor field, as it continues to supply about 46 percent of the chips globally.
Taiwan also expressed its willingness to help the Philippines improve its own semiconductor industry by cultivating talents.
Through the “New Southbound Policy" that aims to develop collaboration, the Taiwan government stays commited in offering scholarships for around 2,000 Filiipinos annually.
Available scholarships cover undergraduate, masters and Ph.D. programs in different academic fields and Mandarin language studies.
