2020 Philippine Holidays: Your Guide to Your 2020 Vacations

Holidays are what keep employees from going insane. President Rodrigo Duterte, on Friday, November 15th 2019, signed Proclamation 845 which declares the complete list of special non-working and regular holidays for 2020.

In this article, we will be disclosing the list of 2020 Philippine holidays so that you can plan your vacations accordingly.

Bill to limit Philippine holidays

We're all aware that a bill was submitted to limit the overall holidays for the productivity of the Philippine economy. House Bill 5032 or also known as the Act of Rationalizing Holidays and Special Days targets to limit the Philippine Holidays for better productivity.

The bill states that the number of both special non-working and regular holidays are to be limited to just eighteen (18) from twenty-one (21) to twenty-five (25) per year.

List of 2020 Philippine holidays

But don't worry! President Rodrigo Duterte signed the proclamation and officially listed the following regular and special non-working holidays for next year. Here are the 2020 Philippine holidays (regular and special non-working):

1. January 1, 2020 - New Year's Day (Wednesday)
2. April 9, 2020 - Araw ng Kagitingan (Thursday)
3. April 9, 2020 - Maundy Thursday (Thursday)
4. April 10, 2020 - Good Friday (Friday)
5. May 1, 2020 - Labor Day (Friday)
6. June 12, 2020 - Independence Day (Friday)
7. August 31, 2020 - National Heroes' Day (Last Monday of August)
8. November 30, 2020 - Bonifacio Day (Monday)
9. December 25, 2020 - Christmas Day (Friday)
10. December 30, 2020 - Rizal Day (Wednesday)

What about religion-based holidays?

As per the proclamation, the Malacañan will be declaring national holidays for the Eid'l Fitr and the Eid'l Adfa after the estimated dates of the Islamic holidays have been determined.
