This scholarship program was created by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in partnership with reputable universities in South Korea in order to generate key leaders who can contribute to the socioeconomic growth of their home countries. The scheme targets government employees with a minimum of two-year experience in the given field study.
Who can apply for the scholarship?
For master's degrees, interested applicants must be a citizen of a partner country (including the Philippines), officially nominated by the country's government, preferably under age 40 (born after January 1, 1983), in good health, fluent in English (speaking and writing), holder of a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution, public official or publicly-affiliated worker, and meets the university's selection criteria.
For doctoral degree, participants must possess the above selection criteria for a master's degree, and a master's degree holder of KOICA's scholarship program.
What are the scholarship's partner universities?
Scholars will have the opportunity to pursue a quality education in any of the partner universities below:
- KDI (Korea Development Institute) School
- University of Seoul
- Seoul National University
- Kangwon National University
- Hangdong Global University
- Yeungnam University
- Kyungpook National University
- Yonsei University
What are the field of study?
There are ten master's courses including Trade and Industrial Policy, Urban Development, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Engineering, Sustainable Regional Development, Policy Competency based on ICT Convergence, Water Resources Management, Energy Policy, Global Health Security, and Agricultural Production.
Meanwhile, Doctoral courses, include Global Health Security and Agricultural Production.
What is the study duration?
Master's course shall have 17 months (August 23- December 24) study period while Doctoral course shall have 36 months (August 23- July 26) study period.
What are the benefits under the scholarship?
