Heads up, scholarship hunters! Here is another scholarship opportunity for qualified applicants. In the fight against COVID-19, BPI aappreciates the significant contributions made by medical front-liners. The BPI Foundation, the bank's social development arm, established PAGPUPUGAY, a scholarship program to aid the surviving family members of medical frontliners who lost their lives or caught COVID-19 while performing their duties, in recognition of their valiant efforts. Examine the below eligibility criteria and apply right away to become a BPI scholar!
Who can apply for the scholarship?
Interested applicants must be a qualified next of kin of the following medical frontliners who passed away or those who contracted COVID-19 in the line of duty:
- Doctors;
- Nurses;
- Medical technologists;
- Community health workers;
- Administrative, utility, and support services personnel in health care facilities.
Note: If the deceased is married, priority beneficiaries will be the children. If single, beneficiaries can be next of kin up to 3rd degree of consanguinity.

Who can apply for the scholarship?
As specified by BPI Foundation, Inc., interested applicants must:
- be a college student (1st year to 4th or 5th year) in any college or university in the Philippines;
- have and maintain a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 85% or its equivalent or meets the university standard; and
- not a beneficiary to other academic assistance program.
What are the benefits under the scholarship?
Each scholar will be provided a maximum of Php 100,000 as a scholarship fund per academic year as financial assistance to cover tuition fees and other miscellaneous expenses paid directly to BPIF’s partner school.
How to file your application?
Students who are qualified and interested can apply through one of BPI's partner schools. The list is indicated below. Please contact the BPI Foundation directly at [email protected] if your school is not on the list.
Partner Schools will review the applications and provide BPIF with a list of three (3) candidates who have been shortlisted. From the list of nominees, successful candidates will be chosen after a review of their academic prowess and financial need. Through the schools and email addresses provided on the application form, BPIF will notify the chosen students of their acceptance.
