CHED's K to 12 Transition Program Internship Opening

The Commission on Higher Education's (CHED) K to 12 Transition Program is currently trying to find interns for some academic backgrounds. In their statement, they will allow college students to apply for this internship.

Who are eligible to apply?

As per CHED, college students who have certain academic backgrounds are eligible to apply as an intern to the CHED's K to 12 transition program. However, some programs have differences in terms of the responsibilities and the preferred courses of those who look forward to being an intern.

Community College Intern responsibilities

• To assist the Institutional Development and Innovation Grants (IDIG) projects in their implementation.
• Perform clerical work for in accordance to the Disbursement and the Grants Management for the IDIG.
• To assist the safekeeping, the organization, and the routing of the documents of the team; and
• To assist the staff of the Technical and Administrative team in their tasks on a daily basis.

What are the preferred courses of the college students for the Community College program?

For the Community College program, any course related to International studies, Education, and Development Management would be fit and qualified for the K to 12 Transition Program internship.

Communication Intern responsibilities

• To track and encode all inquiries received from different channels; and
• To help answer inquiries from customers and/or stakeholders which are sent and received from different channels.

What are the preferred courses of the college students for the Communications program?

For the Communications program, courses in relation or close to Communications would be qualified for the internship the Commission on Higher Education's (CHED's) internship program.

Research Grants Intern responsibilities

• To perform works that are clerical in accordance to the Disbursement and Grants Management on both the Research and the Continuing Professional Education Grants.
• To assist in the implementation of Research and Continuing Professional Education Initiatives.
• To aid in the safekeeping, organization, and routing the documents of the team; and
• To assist in the Technical and Administrative personnel in their daily work.

What are the preferred courses of the college students for the Research Grants program?

Any course which is related to Development Management, Research, and Education would be the appropriate field that the interns can have who look forward to being an intern for CHED.

Evaluation and Monitoring Intern responsibilities

• To conduct clerical work, data encoding, and research in connection with Program Monitoring.

What are the preferred courses of the college students for the Monitoring and Evaluation program?

Any course or program in relation to Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, and other courses in connection to those.

Local Scholarships Intern responsibilities

• To assist in the safekeeping, organization, and routing of the documents of the team.
• To perform both clerical and administrative work in accordance to the Scholarship Management and Disbursement (SMD); and
• To aid both the Technical and the Administrative personnel in their daily work.

What are the preferred courses of the college students for the Local Scholarships program?

Any course in relation to Office Management, Education, and Legal Management is eligible and qualified to be an intern for the CHED K to 12 Transition Program.

Foreign or International Scholarships Intern responsibilities

• To execute clerical and administrative work in accordance to the Grants Management and Disbursement.
• To aid in both the Technical and Administrative personnel in their daily work; and
• Assistance in the safekeeping, routing, and the organization of the documents of the team/s.

What are the preferred courses of the college students for the Foreign or International Scholarship program?

Any course and program relating to International Studies, Accounting, and Development Management is applicable and/or qualified to be part of this K to 12 Transition Program internship.

Adult Education Intern responsibilities

• To conduct clerical work in the measures of the Grants Management and Disbursement.
• Assistance in the Technical and Administrative personnel in their daily work; and
• To aid in the organization, routing, and safekeeping of the documents of the personnel.

What are the preferred courses of the college students for the Adult Education program?

The preferred courses or programs would anything in the lines of International Studies, Education, and Development Management are eligible for the K to 12 Transition Program internship.

How can an aspiring intern apply?

First, the applicants need to ensure that the programs and courses are part of the preferred courses for the internships. Once that has been finalized, they can apply through the CHED K12 website.

1. Access the CHED K12 website. You can click here to be redirected.
2. Once in, the Internship button or option must be clicked.
3. They will be redirected to the application form. Ensure that you hit on the Internship button because you might fill out a different application form.
4. The endorsement letter needs to be uploaded (which from adviser or one of professors) and your Curriculum Vitae.
5. Once you've duly accomplished the forms, you will be asked to select a "place of assignment." This option will depend on the CHED K12 Program coordinators and is not stirred and regulated by anyone. Most often, this will be on the nearest affiliated CHED office in your location.
