Let’s take it from a Grade 12 student from Santo Tomas, Isabela Benjamin Arches Baui who went viral after passing seven university entrance exams with an average scholarship grants of approximately PHP11 million in US and Germany.
According to Advance Montessori Education Center of Isabela student Baui, he was always an achiever ever since a kid as he expressed his happiness when he passed several university scholarships abroad including: Arizona State University, Bentley University, Merrimack College in Massachusetts, Syracuse University in New York, University of Arizona, Xavier University in Ohio and lastly Jacob University in Bremen Germany.
“I’ve been an achiever since I was a kid, starting from kinder, elementary, junior high school up to senior high po, I am an achiever po,” Baui said when he was being interviewed by ABS-CBN Teleradyo hosts.
When asked by the interviewer how did he get the scholarships, “It all started with a vision, it all started in a dream. I doubted myself for the past two years kasi I think that I couldn’t do this. Nagkaroon po ako ng severe anxiety that’s why I have a lot of plans, I started from plan A up to plan F. So if I failed to my first plan then let’s proceed for the second one. Because I believe that keeping trying will push me towards my dream po.”
“Since I was a child, I always dream kung paano ako makakapag-aral abroad po and also my mom told me na she also wants to pursue her studies abroad but then again she didn’t achieve it. So it’s like hitting two birds with one stone po na I achieve my parent’s dream,” he added.
As per Baui, he decided to study his college dream course which is architecture in Xavier University where he will get a PHP7 million worth of scholarship grants. The scholarship benefits include: housing, allowance, and daily expenses. He is expected to stay in Ohio for seven years and is allowed to go home annually.
“I’m planning to pursue my study abroad in Xavier University po because it offers me presidential scholarship approximately PHP7 million in total po.”
Baui also shared how he received ruthless criticisms from other people because of his political stunts and choice to study abroad instead of studying in his own country. According to him, he’s still doing well despite all those hateful bash.
He also inspires his fellow students who want to achieve their dream by studying abroad or here in local saying, “It’s a great move. Don’t let your anxiety deter you on achieving your dreams, if you think that your dreams are tough, you’re even tougher. I hope everyone is doing well.”
