Do you have incoming Grade 7 and 8 student-athletes children who are inclined to sports? The National Academy of Sports (NAS) whose main campus is located at the New Clark City Sports Complex in Tarlac has once again opened the scholarship application for SY 2023-2024.
The scholarship supports student-athletes who are into aquatics (swimming), badminton, gymnastics (rhythmic), judo, table tennis and weightlifting. Apply your children now and help the country perform better and at higher level during regional or worldwide sporting events!
Who can apply for the scholarship?
Interested applicants must possess the qualifications specified by the NAS:
INCOMING GRADE 7:
- be a natural-born Filipino citizen;
- be currently enrolled as a Grade 6 pupil or a graduate of elementary school at the time of application. For those who are not currently enrolled, evidence of equivalency is required;
- must have a general weighted average of at least 80%;
- show evidence of potential in their particular sport;
- not be older than 14 years old at the start of the school year;
- show evidence of being in good health and physical fitness to undergo a rigorous athletic program;
- must be under the specified NAS focus sports- aquatics, athletics, badminton, gymnastics, judo, table tennis, taekwondo and weightlifting
INCOMING GRADE 8:
- be a natural-born Filipino citizen;
- be currently enrolled as a Grade 7 pupil at the time of application. For those who are not currently enrolled, evidence of equivalency is required;
- must have a general weighted average of at least 80%;
- show evidence of potential in their particular sport;
- not be older than 15 years old at the start of the school year;
- show evidence of being in good health and physical fitness to undergo a rigorous athletic program;
- must be under the specified NAS focus sports- aquatics, athletics, badminton, gymnastics, judo, table tennis, taekwondo and weightlifting
What are the benefits under the scholarship?
Scholars shall received the following priveleges:
- Full tuition and miscellaneous fees
- Monthly stipend
- Sports uniform and equipment
- Meal and lodging at the NAS dormitory
- Loan of learning materials such as books and e-books
- Access to all sports facilities (subject to the approval of BCDA)
- Health insurance coverage (subject to the conditions of the Health Insurance Provider)
- Covered expenses for participation in local and interntional competitions to include airfare, accommodation, insurance, meals, allowance, registration fees, passport, visa processing fees, and DSWD permits processing fees
Note: Such other inclusions/priveleges and benefits as may be specifically documented under the rules and policies of NAS, subject to the availability of funds and government accounting/auditing rules and procedures
