Xavier University- Ateneo de Cagayan, also known simply as the Ateneo de Cagayan or Xavier is a private, Catholic, coeducational, research basic and higher education institution. Xavier is operated by the Philippine Province of the Society of Jesus in Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental, Philippines. Founded in 1933 as the Ateneo de Cagayan, it became the first higher education institution in Mindanao to receive a university status a year before its sister school Ateneo de Manila. It was given its present name in honor of the Jesuit missionary St. Francis Xavier.

Who can apply for the scholarships?
All interested Senior High School graduates/incoming college freshmen are welcome to apply.
What are the available scholarships?
OVERVIEW: The President’s, Merit, and Academic tertiary scholars are selected from the top performers of the online scholarship examination administered by the University Testing Center. Applicant must score at least 90 to be considered for ranking.
- President’s Scholars (Top 1-15) enjoy 100% school fees coverage with up to Php10K reimbursement for books, uniform, and ICT related expenses.
- Merit Scholars (Top 16-30) enjoy 100% school fees coverage.
Academic Scholars (Top 31-100) enjoy full tuition and matriculation coverage.
OVERVIEW: The St. Ignatius of Loyola Scholarship is awarded to the Top 1 & Top 2 of an entire Senior High School graduating batch with at least ninety (90) students.
- St. Ignatius of Loyola Scholars enjoy full tuition and matriculation coverage.
OVERVIEW: The St. Francis Xavier Grant-in-Aid is a financial grant for Scholarship Exam Takers who score at least 87 in the Online Scholarship Examination and whose total annual family income do not exceed Php500K for a family of 5 (or, per capita income of Php100K). Application must be evidenced by the parent/s' or guardian/s’ certified true copy of their latest annual Income Tax Return (ITR) form, or, when not applicable, a notarized affidavit of source/s of income with amount indicated.
Applications for the St. Francis Xavier Scholarship are received on a “first come, first served basis.” Once the allotted seventy (70) slots are filled in, or, when it is already past the deadline for submission of applications, the Admissions and Aid Office will no longer receive applications from the qualifiers.
- St Francis Xavier Scholars enjoy Php25K per semester coverage and Php10K during the intersession term, as required.
