BPI Foundation Pagpupugay Scholarship Program AY 2022-2023

Another pleasing news for scholarship hunters! BPI Foundation Pagpupugay Scholarship Program for the Academic Year 2022-2023 has started to accept applications through their numerous partner schools!

BPI recognizes the great contributions of medical front liners in the fight against COVID-19. To honor their heroic efforts, BPI Foundation, the bank’s social development arm, created PAGPUPUGAY, a scholarship program to support the next of kin of the medical frontliners who passed away or contracted COVID-19 in the line of duty. Check the eligibility requirements below and apply now as a BPI scholar!

WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS?

1. Qualified next of kin of the following medical frontliners who passed away or those who contracted COVID-19 in the line of duty:

1. Doctors

2. Nurses

3. Medical technologists

4. Community health workers

5. Administrative, utility, and support services personnel in health care facilities

If the deceased is married, priority beneficiaries will be the children. If single, beneficiaries can be next of kin up to 3rd degree of consanguinity.

2. Applicants should be college students (1st year to 4th or 5th year) in any college or university in the Philippines.

3. To qualify, eligible students must have and maintain a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 85% or its equivalent, or meet University standards for the previous academic year (for incoming 1st year) or for the previous semester (for incoming 2nd year to 5th year).

WHAT ARE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTRAY REQUIREMENTS?

3. If the medical frontliner is deceased: Affidavit of Endorsement and of No Objection (Next of Kin) (http://bit.ly/2021Affidavit-NextOfKin)

4. If the medical frontliner is still living: Affidavit of Endorsement and of No Objection (Frontliner) (http://bit.ly/2021Affidavit-Frontliner)

5. Endorsement letter, duly signed by the authorized representative of the hospital or health care facility where the medical frontliner is currently or was assigned.

6. Original or authenticated copies of the following:

• Course curriculum
• If a child of the medical front liner: NSO-authenticated birth certificate of the applicant
• If a sibling of the medical front liner: NSO-authenticated birth certificate of the applicant, and the frontliner showing their common parents
• If a nephew/niece of the medical front liner: NSO-authenticated birth certificate of the applicant, together with the NSO-authenticated birth certificate of the applicant’s parent and the medical frontliner showing their common parents
• If a widow/widower of the medical front liner: NSO-authenticated marriage certificate of the medical frontliner.
• PRC ID or License ID of the medical frontliner
• If the medical frontliner is deceased: death certificate of the medical frontliner indicating COVID-19 or complications due to COVID-19 as the cause of death
• If the medical frontliner is still living: medical certificate of the medical front liner indicating  COVID-19 in the findings
• Latest ITR of parents / guardian of the applicant
• Latest Transcript of Records or Copy of Grades
• Certificate of Good Moral Character issued by the school

NOTE:

• Only the applications with complete requirements will be reviewed.
• Scanned copies of the application form and other supporting documents may be submitted. Hard copies will be required for applicants who qualify for the scholarship.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS UNDER THE SCHOLARSHIP?

• Each scholar will be provided a maximum of Php 100,000.00 as a scholarship fund per academic year as financial assistance to cover tuition fees and other miscellaneous expenses paid directly to BPIF’s partner school.

HOW TO APPLY?

Interested and eligible students may apply through the BPI partner schools. Partner Schools will screen the applications and submit a short-list of nominees to BPIF.

If the college or university is not included in the list of partner schools, the applicant may coordinate directly with BPI Foundation through [email protected] or [email protected].

Successful applicants will be evaluated based on their academic excellence and financial need.  BPIF will notify the qualified scholar through the email address indicated in the application form.  An email will also be sent to the scholar’s school.
