Study in Canada or France: DOST-SEI offers scholarships for Master's and PhD studies until April 15, 2023

By any chance, do you want to experience the best years of your academic career abroad? Well, here's a catch, the Department of Science and Technology- Science Education Institute, is currently inviting interested students to apply for master's and PhD programs on priority fields of study in science and technology until April 15, 2023 only. Who can apply for the scholarships?

For DOST SEI UAlberta S&T Graduate Scholarship

Interested applicants shall possess the required qualifications:

One must:

  1. be a Filipino citizen;
  2. be not more than 50 years old at the time of application;
  3. be in good health;
  4. pass the admission requirements for graduate studies at UAlberta;
  5. pass interview and screening procedures; and
  6. align the research interest with the areas/programs identified under the DOST Harmonized National Research and Development Agenda (HNRDA).

For DOST Foreign Graduate Scholarship

One must:

  1. be a Filipino citizen;
  2. not be more than 50 years old at the time of application;
  3. be in good health condition;
  4. pass the admission requirements for graduate studies in a foreign university with good track record;
  5. pass the interview and other screening procedures;
  6. align the research interest with the areas/programs identified under the DOST’s Harmonized National Research and Development Agenda (HNRDA); and
  7. have a viable re-entry plan.

For PhilFrance DOST Fellowship Program

One must:

  1. be a Filipino citizen;
  2. be not more than 50 years old at the time of application;
  3. be in good health;
  4. be a holder of a higher education diploma recognized by the Philippine Government;
  5. have excellent academic background;
  6. have sufficient knowledge or expertise to carry out higher studies;
  7. pass the admission requirements for graduate studies in a public university in France; and
  8. pass the interview and other screening procedures.

What are the benefits under the scholarships?

Scholars shall be entitled to the following priveleges as specified by DOST-SEI:

  1. Tuition fees
  2. Monthly living allowance (based on the cost of living in chosen country)
  3. One round-trip economy fare from residence to place of study (one-time only in the whole duration of study)
  4. Relocation allowance
  5. Pre-travel expenses

Note: Applicant must pass the admission requirements for graduate studies in partner foreign universities. An applicant who has already started their studies abroad prior to application can no longer apply.
