The Social Security System has declared that pensioners' 13th-month pay release will take place on December 1 and 4, in two batches, which would begin to be distributed on December 1.
According to deputy spokesperson Marissa Mapalo, pension distribution for individuals with a contingency date between 1 and 15 will take place on December 1.
“So mayroon po kaming ire-release by December 1, ito po ay para sa aming pensioners na may date of contingency na nagfa-fall sa 1 to 15. So para po sa batch 2 naman that will be on Dec. 4, ito naman ay para sa pensioners na may date of contingency na nagfa-fall sa 16 hanggang sa last day of the month,” she said.
The rest will be released on Dec. 4. The pensioner's 13-th month pay is equal to his monthly pension.
“Wala po akong makitang dahilan kasi systematic na po iyong pangre-release namin, dahil kasabay na po iyan ng kanilang December pension. So regularly natatanggap po nila iyong kanilang monthly pension. Dapat kasabay na ho iyang 13th month pay,” she added.
All pensioners—retiree and surviving pensioners—or people who take pensions in place of their deceased family members shall be paid for the thirteenth month.
The 13th month's pay as well as the monthly pension will be released by SSS this December.
If there's going to be a delay, it might be the banks handling the release, Attorney. Mapalo clarified.
Pensioners can contact SSS by email at [email protected] or by calling their hotline, 8145, to request assistance.
According to the SSS representative, they will receive a response and action on their questions or concerns within 24 to 72 hours.
