Are you one of thousands of candidates who want to take the University of the Philippines College Admission Test (UPCAT) in order to get admitted to the premier university? Well, UPCAT is back!
After being postponed in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the UPCAT will once again be conducted face-to-face nationwide in Academic Year 2024–2025, according to UP's statement on February 15.

For the current year, the UPCAT application period will start in the first week of March 2023 with online portal Form 1 (Applicants Personal Data).
The university also stated that its Office of Admissions will ask for candidates' official grades from their individual schools in September so that they can be validated.

Students who are currently in grade 11 and will graduate from senior high school at the end of the academic year 2023–2024 are eligible to apply.
According to the university, more than 100 test locations around the country will host the UP College Admission Test (UPCAT).
“All applications are to be done online and applicants need to encode their grades for Grades 8, 9, 10, and 11 in the UPCAT online portal,” the university stated in its post.
"Though applicants may still be in Grade 11 when they apply, exam takers will encode their grades online only in September 2023 when Grade 11 grades are final and complete,” the post added.

Further, the top 50 qualifiers of the UPCAT shall be admitted to the University of the Philippines in the first semester of AY 2024-2025 and will enjoy free tuition, miscellaneous and laboratory fees, semestral book subsidy and a monthly incentive and transportation allowance.
As per the UP website, recipients may enjoy the benefits throughout the normal length of time required to finish their chosen degree program, provided they maintain the required grade point average.
