The Gokongwei Brothers Foundation (GBF) is a renowned philanthropic organization based in the Philippines. GBF hopes to assist pre-service and in-service teachers in becoming champions of STEM education and significant student learning experiences with the aid of TeachSTEM.
GBF TeachSTEM was established in 2018 and has graduated 24 scholars while continuing to support 349 others.
GBF is seeking 142 new TeachSTEM college and master's scholars this year. The deadline for applications is July 31, 2023.
GBF TEACHSTEM COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Who can apply for this scholarship?
Make sure that you possess the following qualifications before you apply. One must:
1.be an incoming or ongoing college student taking a course in Education with specialization in STEM-related fields, Technical Vocational Program, or General Education;
2.be enrolled or intend to enroll in a TEI with LET performance above the national average;
3.have no failed, dropped, or incomplete grades in the previous academic year;
√If senior high school, academic records from grades 11 and 12 will be evaluated.
4.have a general weighted average of at least eighty-five percent (85%) or its equivalent from the previous academic year;
√If senior high school, GWA from grade 11.
5 has involvement in extracurricular or community activities;
6.be willing to teach in a public school in their community after graduation;
7.be of good moral standing;
8.have no existing disciplinary case;
9.be in need of financial support to complete studies;
10.not be a recipient of other scholarships; and
11.be in good health.

GBF TEACHSTEM MASTER'S SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Who can apply for this scholarship?
Eligible applicants are those who possess the below qualifications. One must:
1.have at least 1 year teaching experience
• in either public or private school with the intent to teach as a K-12 public school teacher of Science or Math (or any STEM-related subject) OR
• a tertiary level instructor/professor of any STEM-related subject or course;
2.be a model of teaching excellence, innovativeness, care for learners, and commitment to serve;
3.be an incoming or ongoing MA student in education specializing in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), Alternative Learning System, TechVoc training OR Special Education
• If currently an enrolled student, the applicant must NOT be in the comprehensive exam or thesis stage of his/her graduate studies and is enrolled with at least 6 units;
4.have a weighted grade of at least 2.0 or its equivalent from the previously enrolled academic year;
5.be enrolled in TEIs within or above the national average LET performance;
6.have no failed, incomplete, or dropped grades from the previous semester
•An applicant with an incomplete, dropped or failed subject can be admitted as long as they are able to present proof of completion of the said subjects;
7.have at least a "Satisfactory" rating in teaching performance from the previous year;
8.be of good moral standing with no existing disciplinary case at the university he/she enrolled in and at the public school he/she is teaching;
9.be in need of financial support to complete his/her studies;
10.not be a recipient of other scholarships; and
11.be in good health.
