Dyson, a British technology company popular for their “bagless vacuum cleaner,” reported that they are currently hiring 400 highly-skilled engineers for a new dedicated software lab to rise in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
The software lab is a part of a 2.75 billion pound or $3.67 billion venture of theirs into the latest technology. This will run and transpire over the next five (5) years, which will be observed to double its product portfolio including the devices that would take it beyond the home.
As per Dyson, the Philippine-based software lab will be part of Dyson’s global Research, Design and Development team spanning across the US, UK, Shanghai, Singapore, and Malaysia..
The Chief Operating Officer (CEO), Scott Maguire, said that the country has what the company needs for their development.
Moreover, he said that Dyson is in the process of growing and in developing technologies for the future; that they will continue to invest to the country, with the trust of working with highly-skilled and highly-educated workers.
The Philippines is home to bright, young engineers who share Dyson’s ambition to develop technologies for the future. Dyson has been growing in the Philippines for this reason and it is a nation that clearly celebrates both engineers and technology… We will continue to invest in the Philippines and look forward to having more highly skilled Filipino engineers join our ranks to develop and manufacture exciting new technologies for the future, which will be used all around the world.”
With that in mind, Dyson is really striving to strengthen its bond with the country. Knowing that Filipinos are excellent and skilled in engineering, Maguire has his full trust in us!
Hope For Dyson
Wondering what type of jobs are going to be open? Furthermore, what specifications do they need? Roles in the software lab that’d be open will include the following:
- Embedded software engineers;
- Automation test engineers;
- Scrum masters;
- Product owners;
- Program managers;
- Release train engineers; and
- Team leaders
As per the company, the engineers would need to have experience in a series of coding languages. In addition, they also would gain advantages if they’re knowledgeable in certain development tools.
These engineers will have experience with a range of software coding languages, including real-time embedded ‘C’. They will also have good knowledge of microcontrollers and system on a chip (SoC) processors, and be familiar with embedded development tools.”
New Generation of Intelligent Machines
Maguire also made a note in a news briefing last week, that the new software lab would focus on research and development to create a new generation of intelligent machines that understand their environment and their users.
Thus, he’s talking more advanced systems and robotics than what we’re currently using.
Charito Plaza, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority Director-General praised Dyson’s substantial contribution to investment, export-income generation, and job creation in the country.
He said that the company’s plan of setting up a software lab is effective in making it reflect to the plan of the country long-term.
In addition to that, Plaza also said that this will be great because it will give many Filipinos better career plans and professions – long-term.
Dyson’s planned software lab reflects the company’s long-term commitment to the Philippines. It is also a validation of the skills and talents that our engineering workforce holds. This will create exciting career opportunities for the brightest of our engineers; our engineers who wish to design and develop software for a renowned and fast-growing global technology company.”
With Dyson currently hiring about 400 new Software Engineers, are you interested in being a part of the company?
Dyson, in the present time, had set up a manufacturing facility in Calamba Laguna. It has about 600 different employees who help with the production of 13 million Dyson motors a year.
Dyson is a pretty old and classic company. It was founded by Briton James Dyson in the 1990s. Some of the earliest products they offered included hair care, hand driers, and air purifiers; moreover, they also had vacuums, which now come battery powered.
The innovative feat of Dyson is really looking to change the world for the better – and with easier ways.
What do you think of the fact that Dyson is hiring about 400 software engineers in their latest software lab in the country? Will you have the interest to apply if you were a software engineer? Or are you willing to undergo everything in order for you to be a part of their corporation?
